That turned out to not be the case. Once Filemaker improved their software to version 9 (in the summer of 21007), it quickly became clear that their custom web publishing tools had evolved to the point where a Filemaker driven site could easily hold its own with the big boys.

With that in mind, ZWARM has now set up its own Filemaker servers for its clients to benefit from.

2007: Filemaker & PHP
In 2007, ZWARM's web building department made some changes. Instead of using just mySQL for online databases, we started to deploy Filemaker as online database too, driving all sorts of custom-built websites. With Filemaker 9's new enhanced PHP handling tools, it just made a lot of sense. This has led us in two directions: custom Filemaker driven websites, and online collaborative tools. Here's some more info on both.

Custom Filemaker Websites
Imagine being able to build websites directly on top of your existing Filemaker solutions. No more synchronizing, or endless importing and exporting of data between your company database and your website. Now, they're one and the same. The Filemaker system in your office will also run your website. Now when orders are placed online, they're in your Filemaker system right away. And vice versa, when you make a change on your office database, it's immediately reflect on your site. It's a great tool, and many of our clients are excited about it.

Collaborative Site #1: Mr. Hub
For the past year ZWARM has put its expertise into the development of two online collaborative tools. One is called Mr. Hub, and is perfect for managing a lot of complex projects, people, and timelines. We use it all the time, to manage over 230 clients and 100 projects at any given time. Collaborative Site #2: LoktMail
In January 2008 ZWARM launched a new little site called LoktMail. We won't go into details here (that's what this site is for), but suffice it to say that LoktMail's primary purpose is to make sure people can communicate online safely, securely, and spam-free.
